Janet Johnson was born into a missionary family and grew up in Burundi, where she also taught for several years. A graduate in philosophy from Wheaton College (Illinois, USA) and in theology from the Faculté libre de théologie évangélique de Vaux-sur-Seine, she teaches the Old Testament, Hebrew, and the history of religions at the Biblical Institute of Nogent-sur-Marne, a city in the eastern suburbs of Paris. She is passionate about Tolkien's books, teaching the Bible to children, and horses!
